01 Job Purpose:

Responsibility to measure, evaluate, survey, and interpret energy consumption of existing cooling, heating compressed air, stream and other energy consuming systems in building and factories and recommending savings potential and investment requirement for specific energy conservation measures.

02 Job Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for the energy audit at the respective client sites
    • Analyse the data holistically and identity the key levers and energy savings potential
    • Create energy audit reports and share recommendations to create a comprehensive project proposal to get new customers
    • Creating the Energy Audit Processes and Protocols
      Major Activities / Tasks
    • Visually inspect or evaluate site, mechanical systems, electrical systems, or process systems to determine the energy consumption of each system.
    • Walk in audits to understand the existing infrastructure, machinery and energy consumption patterns
    • Performs appropriate and applicable tests to determine the extent of inefficiency.
    • Document condition of identified facility to include information necessary for project completion including photographs, written material, & researched data
    • Inspect existing equipment to verify proper functioning as per recommended standards
    • Collect and analyze field data related to energy usage.
    • Analyze energy bills, utility rates, historical energy data, and other forms of material to determine usage baselines
    • Identify patterns of facility use to evaluate annual & monthly needs for all forms of energy against actual usage
    • Compare existing energy consumption levels to normative data if available
    • Analyze the technical feasibility of energy-saving measures through knowledge of engineering, energy production, energy use, maintenance, system operations and energy saving technologies, systems, processes, tools and behaviors
    • Calculate potential for energy saving and prioritize the areas as per return on investment (cost benefit analysis) and deployment feasibility
    • Prepare detailed audit reports containing layouts, energy analysis results, recommendations of equipment, and installation procedures
    • Formulate energy consumption baselines and energy savings measurement and verification protocols
    • Ensure proper documentation/supporting data is in place for the recommendations proposed
    • Providing energy optimization savings calculation/estimate and reports.
    • Answer any client technical queries related to the recommendations propose in the report
    • Creating and updating the energy audit SOPs both for new projects as well as existing client sites
    • Having an annual plan for visiting and auditing the energy conversation measures deployed on the sites and sharing further recommendations to the leadership team
    • Partnering with external energy consulting in the industry to know the best practices and share the same with the respective stakeholders.

05 Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of Energy audit experience
  • Experience of conducting comprehensive energy audits for more than 20-30 sites in different verticals such as: commercial buildings, process industries etc
  • Worked in an Energy auditing, energy services, operations management and/or energy consulting firm
  • Experience of working in ESCO model
  • Demonstrated interest in energy conservation
  • Experience in Operations and maintenance
  • B.Tech/ B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
  • Bureau of Energy Efficiency Accredited Energy Auditor or Certified Energy Auditor is required
  • CMVP certification and Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of engineering, thermodynamics, mass and heat balance, energy use, operations and maintenance
  • Ability on fingertips to quickly and in detail assess the efficiencies and improvement potential in utilities such as HVAC, steam, hot water and compressed air
  • Understanding of methods used for technical and cost savings analysis and reporting
  • Understanding of energy conservation principles and techniques through improvements in system design, equipment retrofits and operational improvements
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation and automation systems
  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word)
  • Understanding of energy modeling and building/industrial automation systems
  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational and documentation skills
