JouleCOOL: Comprehensive on-site utility business model applicable to new facilities, where Smart Joules offers cooling “as a service” by designing, building, owning, operating and maintaining the entire cooling infrastructure in return for monthly payments based on demand and usage.

JoulePAYS (Pay as you save): Guaranteed savings on utility energy consumption for large existing facilities through design, execution and management of profitable energy conservation measures. Smart Joules invests in all the upgrades and charges clients a share of the savings under long term contracts.

JouleONE: Data-driven power quality optimization solutions for commercial and industrial customers in partnership with large electric utility companies.

DeJoule: IOT automation technology enabling data-driven continuous performance optimization and client delight. It continuously identifies and corrects for hidden inefficiencies in dynamic energy systems such as air conditioning and compressed air. It 1) collects data in real time from sensors and other many sources, 2) analyses real time and historical data using heuristic and machine learning algorithms to find hidden energy inefficiencies and optimum set points, and 3) continuously adjusts (controls) set points of various equipment to minimize energy use.

03 Role Vision and Responsibilities:

Provide technical leadership to Operations team to minimize Carbon emissions, maintain high quality of Operations and maximize profit & client delight

      Enable performance daily savings targets:
    • Maintain benchmarks of asset and system performance across SJPL sites to enable effective goal setting and continuous improvement
    • Guide Energy Managers and SEEs to produce accurate and effective weekly and monthly site progress reports; review the same before sharing forward
    • Enable effective maintenance practices and fast troubleshooting by providing apt technical guidance
    • Build and grow library of Operational ECMs
    • Help establish quarterly key performance goals for operations team members, track progress and enable success
      Maintaining regular client relationships and finding opportunities for value addition on client sites:
    • Plan and execute physical energy and sustainability audits @ SJPL client sites
    • Enhance visibility of SJPL's Efforts among clients through on-site visits, trainings, regular reports and actionable alerts
      Leveraging data led decision making to enhance operational performance:
    • Ensure DeJoule (IOT platform) is fully utilized to deliver savings and effective client engagement
    • Generate insightful analysis reports and case studies basis data collected from SJPL sites
      Responsible for the technical skill enhancement of the Operations team members:
    • Create the technical assessment and training roadmap for the site energy engineers and energy managers
    • Prepare the necessary content and/or partner with external training subject matter experts for any specialised training programs
    • Ensuring facilitation and execution of the training programs as per plan and monitor post training effectiveness
      Support for getting the right talent in the Operations team:
    • Identification and technical assessments of candidates for operations team
    • Being part of the technical interview rounds and providing inputs to the team to get the right talent at the right time
    • Provide effective mentorship to SJPL team members so they can deliver on their performance and achieve their career growth goals.

04 Qualifications and skills:

  • BE, B Tech, M Tech- preferably in Mechanical or Electrical
  • 15 years of experience with technical operations management across at-least 2 industries; Central command centre experience
  • Strong technical command over HVAC and at-least fundamental knowledge of heating and compressed air utilities
  • Experience managing multiple sites simultaneously throughout India
  • Have experience of managing small teams of 5-7 team members
  • The role includes extensive travel- so should enjoy and be open for travel to the sites as per requirements and also prepare their own client visit travel calendar
  • Ability to innovate and collaborate effectively
  • Good to have- BEE Certified Energy Auditor and energy auditing experience in different industries

05 Reporting Structure:

Will report into the Chief Operating Officer This role will have a reporting of 8-10 team members from the Analytics team and technical training team members

  • BE, B Tech, M Tech- preferably in Mechanical or Electrical
  • 15 years of experience with technical operations management across at-least 2 industries; Central command centre experience

06 Career Growth Path at SJPL:

  • In the next 3-4 years become Head of Project Operations overseeing all operations and maintenance Pan India
  • Can also move laterally into the Central Design team or also be part of the Business development team
