02 Our Business Offerings: :

JouleCOOL: Comprehensive on-site utility business model applicable to new facilities, where Smart Joules offers cooling “as a service” by designing, building, owning, operating and maintaining the entire cooling infrastructure in return for monthly payments based on demand and usage.

JoulePAYS (Pay as you save): Guaranteed savings on utility energy consumption for large existing facilities through design, execution and management of profitable energy conservation measures. Smart Joules invests in all the upgrades and charges clients a share of the savings under long term contracts.

JouleONE: Data-driven power quality optimization solutions for commercial and industrial customers in partnership with large electric utility companies.

DeJoule: IOT automation technology enabling data-driven continuous performance optimization and client delight. It continuously identifies and corrects for hidden inefficiencies in dynamic energy systems such as air conditioning and compressed air. It 1) collects data in real time from sensors and other many sources, 2) analyses real time and historical data using heuristic and machine learning algorithms to find hidden energy inefficiencies and optimum set points, and 3) continuously adjusts (controls) set points of various equipment to minimize energy use.

03 Role Vision and Responsibilities:

This role is responsible for making Smart Joules’ JouleCOOL model successful at our first JouleCOOL client’s site by delivering on all of SJPL’s commitments and managing the client and O&M subcontractor smoothly. Specifically, the responsibilities include:

    Relationship Management:
  • Ensuring, partnering with contractor supervisor & ‘his team to get deliverables completed on the site as per SLA’s and commitments to the client
  • Clients: Keeping client engineering teams updated, satisfied, and informed about SJPL’s adherence to our contractual obligations and about client’s own contractual commitments towards Smart Joules.
  • Sharing all accurate information required for billing and monthly reports in a timely manner with the Central Services team.
  • Ensuring Smart Joules’ invoices are submitted on time and to the right people.
  • Resolving all queries of engineering teams related to billing and keeping continuous track of invoice movement within the client team until collection of payment.
    Operational Excellence:
  • Ensure chiller plant room performance is better than 0.65 kWh/TRh in every single month to maximize value to the client and profit for Smart Joules.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly plans and trackers for each of SJPL’s obligations under the project. Execute effectively to meet all targets.
  • Reporting: Ensure high quality reporting including daily energy performance report, weekly maintenance and savings reports and monthly reports to be shared with clients and for internal discussion and analysis purposes.
  • Managing execution of maintenance schedules through contractors and vendors
  • Handling inventory management at sites efficiently, ensuring availability of critical spares.
  • Ensuring vendors are executing all works under AMCs and Warranties in a timely and high- quality manner.
  • Maintain proper documentation like attendance, payment terms, regional compliance requirement on the site with respect to the contractor staff.
  • Maintaining all site documentation as per Smart Joules’ standards.
  • Ensure proper utilization of DeJoule (BMS System) from contractor’s team, including maintenance mode features so that all maintenance information is up-to-date on the system.
  • Collaborate with DeJoule Use Team as necessary in the efficient operation of our HVAC assets.
  • Ensuring contractor use DeJoule consistently and comprehensively.
  • Quickly report any issues and ensure timely and effective troubleshooting.

    Reinforcing the Company’s Mission, Vision and Core Values and ensuring adherence to company policies. Leadership responsibilities include

  • Training: Helping with execution of regular training programs for the contractors and clients as and when needed.
  • Ensuring proper branding is maintained and all spaces around Smart Joules’ equipment are neat and tidy.

05 Qualifications and skills:

  • At Least 8 years of experience in operations and maintenance in commercial buildings
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Considerable experience with operations and maintenance of central air conditioning systems
  • Capable of making basic energy calculations
  • Basic computer skills (Web Search, Email, Word, Excel, Power Point) including document preparation.
  • Strong in client relationship management
  • Communication: Must speak English or Hindi (preferably both) and the local language spoken at their site location
